Game Show Network Recruits Play-by-Play Commentator To Announce An Episode Of A Game Show, Because We All Miss Sports

Emmy®-Award-Winning Sports Announcer Rich Waltz To Analyze The Competition Of One Of The Network’s Most Popular Shows, AMERICA SAYS, on April 11 at 5 p.m.

Tune-in to a specially created “sports edition” of AMERICA SAYS featuring play-by-play commentary from Emmy®-Award-winning play-by-play commentator, Rich Waltz on Game Show Network, April 11 at 5 p.m. Best known for calling television broadcasts for the Miami Marlins, CBS Sports Network, and MLB Network telecasts, Waltz will add his skilled observations to amuse viewers on the network’s survey-guessing game show, AMERICA SAYS, which is the most-watched original series on the network among W25-54[i].

Get into the game show as Waltz shares his colorful analysis and good humor while covering the strategies, successes, mishaps, and fun of an episode of AMERICA SAYS. Waltz’s real time play-by-plays will give viewers a unique way to experience team-against-team competition, and maybe share a much-needed laugh.

“The people at Game Show Network called with this funny idea, to call an episode of AMERICA SAYS, like it’s a sporting event. It was a blast,” said Waltz. “Two big reasons I said yes; Game Show Network told me I could call the game in my pajamas, and I’m a huge fan of John Michael Higgins’ work in movies like ‘Best In Show’ and ‘A Mighty Wind.’”

AMERICA SAYS, hosted by John Michael Higgins, is a fast-paced studio game show where two teams of friends and family face off to guess America’s responses to fill-in-the-blank survey questions covering every topic under the sun. They’ll have to be quick when trying to think of what America says, as time is always ticking and the team with the most money banked after three rounds will head to a bonus round to see if they can win up to $15,000.

Rich Waltz is a three-time-Emmy®-winning television play-by-play commentator. Currently he calls College Football and Basketball for CBS Sports Network, CBS Sports, and MLB for MLB Network. Perhaps best known for calling the Miami Marlins from 2005-2017, he also called MLB games on FOX Sports, ESPN, ESPN Radio and MLB Network. His College Football and Basketball work also includes ESPN, Fox Sports, FS1, Raycom, and the Pac-12 Network among others. Waltz is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he played college baseball.
